KENYA

Kenya is a destination I had in mind most of my adult life. From the time I visited the San Diego Zoo in 1981, I knew that seeing classic African animals on safari would be a premier destination for me.

The highlight of our itinerary was the Masai Mara National Reserve. Starting with the Masai people, a definitive symbol of Kenya, to the enormous expanse of the reserve, this was a photographer's dream come true. The migration of the wildebeest from the Mara to the Serengeti Plain in Tanzania creates an indelible memory. The miles of grasslands, beautiful acacia trees with their flat tops, and herds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras made this one of my most memorable experiences.
